Angela Shaffer of Dundalk, an avid Keno player, won the top $50,000 Cash Boom prize on the $5 game, officials said Wednesday, April 3.

“This is so exciting,” she told officials as she arrived at headquarters with her significant other. “I even brought a wig to wear in my picture.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Redner’s Markets #96 at 7938 Eastern Avenue in Baltimore.

After first scratching the ticket, Angela thought she was in disbelief and had to get a second set of eyes — well, virtual ones.

“I thought I read the ticket wrong, so I reread the rules,” Angela said. “Then, I FaceTimed my friend to show her the ticket to see if I was really seeing a $50,000 prize.”

Angela plans to generously help others with her winnings as well, as travel and spend time with her parents.

“I just want a good meal,” her significant other laughed.

The Cash Boom game went on sale in September 2023 and has four $50,000 top prizes remaining, along with four $5,000 prizes and hundreds of others ranging from $10 to $1,000.
